This week swung between high-octane photoshoots and fashion events to Easter-fueled sugar highs, emotional dysregulation and a very sad family passing.
The Club Women’s Network
At the start of this year, I had a conversation with a good friend of mine - Pat Kane - about a “different” type of networking group for women. The founder of The Club Women’s Network was looking to create a board for 2024 to capitalise on the growth and momentum of this newly founded group. I had a chat with Sian Horn; the driving force behind the community and she explained her mission and vision with me. She was creating a space for women that focused on participation over pitching; a space that was both formal and informal, supportive and practical. “Come as you are, wherever you are”. This resonated deeply with me and I agreed to take a board seat for 2024; along with Pat Kane, Loretta Kennedy, Jenny Johnston, Pamela Walsh and Sarah Connolly. After the first set of board meetings, we decided to organise a shoot to capture the newly formed board and the regional suite of committee members. The end result belies the logistics and operations in coordinating a group of busy women - juggling work, life, family commitments & cross-country travel (you should have seen the bathroom/ changing room by the end of the shoot) - but it was a unique opportunity to capture the energy and drive behind the community. Lots of great plans & activity lined up for the year so watch this space.
